Finding the Right Match Matters
A Thoughtful, Personal Adoption Journey
Bringing a Dachshund puppy into your home is an exciting decision, but it's also a long-term commitment that deserves careful thought and preparation.
Our adoption process is designed to create the best possible experience for both our puppies and the families welcoming them home. We believe responsible breeding goes far beyond simply making puppies available. Every placement should feel thoughtful, transparent, and built around compatibility, care, and lifelong support.
We take pride in raising well-socialized Dachshund puppies in a loving home environment, and we want each puppy to transition into a home where they will be valued, understood, and properly cared for throughout their life.
Whether you are a first-time Dachshund owner or an experienced enthusiast, we are here to guide you through the process every step of the way.
Submit an Inquiry
The first step is reaching out to introduce yourself and tell us a little about what you are looking for.
We encourage families to include:
- Previous experience with dogs
- Preferred coat type or color
- Desired timeline
- Household information
- Lifestyle details
- Questions or concerns
This initial conversation helps us better understand what type of puppy may be the best fit for your home and allows us to begin building a relationship before placement decisions are made.
Puppy Availability & Matching
Once we receive your inquiry, we'll discuss current availability, upcoming litters, or potential waitlist opportunities.
Rather than treating puppy selection like a simple online purchase, we focus on thoughtful matching based on:
- Temperament
- Personality
- Energy level
- Household environment
- Lifestyle compatibility
- Family dynamics
Every Dachshund has a unique personality, and we believe the right match creates the strongest long-term experience for both the puppy and the family.
Reservation Process
Once a puppy has been selected and approved, a reservation deposit of $500 is required β which is part of the total cost of the puppy β to officially hold the puppy, take the puppy off the market, and ready them for pickup or delivery.
Reservation details will always be discussed clearly before any commitment is made.
During this stage, families will receive:
- Puppy updates
- Progress photos
- Development milestones
- Health updates
- Estimated go-home timeline
We understand how exciting this stage is, and we do our best to keep families involved throughout the puppy's early development.
Preparing for Your Puppy
Welcoming a new puppy home takes preparation, especially for first-time Dachshund owners.
Before pickup or delivery, we'll help guide you through important preparation topics such as:
- Crate setup
- Feeding routines
- Puppy-proofing your home
- Safe toys and supplies
- Early training expectations
- Socialization
- Dachshund back safety
We want every family to feel informed and confident before bringing their puppy home.
Health & Veterinary Care
Every puppy receives attentive care from the beginning of life.
Prior to going home, puppies will typically receive:
- Age-appropriate vaccinations
- Deworming
- General wellness checks
- Veterinary evaluations
- Early socialization and handling
We place a strong emphasis on responsible breeding practices, temperament development, and overall health.
Because Dachshunds are a unique breed structurally, we also prioritize education surrounding proper handling, healthy growth, and long-term spinal health awareness.
Going Home Day
The day your puppy joins your family is one of the most exciting parts of the journey.
At pickup or delivery, families will receive information regarding:
- Feeding schedule
- Current routine
- Vaccination records
- Health information
- Transition guidance
- Recommended care practices
Our goal is to make the transition into your home as smooth and stress-free as possible for both the puppy and your family.
π What Comes Home With Your Puppy
Each puppy may go home with a personalized starter package that can include:
- Health records
- Vaccination documentation
- Starter food
- Familiar blanket or comfort item
- Toy or enrichment item
- Care information
- Puppy guidance materials
We want every puppy to leave with a familiar foundation that helps ease the adjustment into their new environment.
Pickup & Delivery Options
Depending on location, families may have the option to:
- Pick up their puppy in person
- Arrange a meet-up
- Arrange ground transportation
- Discuss delivery or travel options
The comfort and safety of every puppy always remain our top priority during travel arrangements.
Additional transportation details can be discussed directly during the adoption process.
Ongoing Support
Our relationship with our families does not end once a puppy goes home.
We are always happy to provide guidance, answer questions, and support families as their Dachshund grows. Whether it's training questions, feeding guidance, or general breed support, we genuinely enjoy staying connected with the families who welcome one of our puppies into their lives.
Responsible breeding is about more than producing puppies. It's about building lasting relationships and ensuring every puppy has the opportunity to thrive in a loving home.
A Thoughtful & Personal Experience
We understand that choosing a Dachshund is an emotional and meaningful decision.
Our adoption process is designed to feel personal, transparent, and supportive from beginning to end, giving families confidence that they are working with breeders who genuinely care about the health, well-being, and future of every puppy we raise.
